So this week marked 16 weeks of pregnancy and if it’s anything to go by, this one is totally different to Daisy. By now in my first pregnancy, I felt like a superhero; loads of energy, motivation and the only sign of pregnancy was my growing belly. This time however, my body is reminding me constantly that I am indeed ‘with child’. My belly has popped out way quicker this time, I’m still getting nausea (although only in the evenings) and tiredness is at a high. The biggest thing is the stomach pains I’m getting. I’ve tried everything from pregnancy yoga to Epsom salt baths and have even bought a pregnancy pillow, but nothing seems to ease it.Of course, having a toddler in tow this time is definitely going to change things; gone are the days of putting my feet up and watching box sets for days on end. Now, I’m picking Play-Doh out of the rug, having luke warm, shared baths with all the foam letters and trying to baby wipe my house clean, all whilst having “Johnny, Johnny” stuck in my head (if you know, you know).
Admittedly mind, I wouldn’t change it for the world and all the tough moments are immediately forgotten when Daisy declares me her “best friend” or I feel the little flutters of baby number two. We knew we wanted another baby and leading up to the wedding, I was kind of wishing time away so we could start trying. After trying for a year for Daisy, never did we imagine falling pregnant within a month of getting married! We feel incredibly lucky and honestly a little shocked!
I’m due 7th July and it’s absolutely flying by. We’re already at loggerheads on finding out what we’re having (we found out with Daisy), but I’m adamant on a surprise this time and given I’ll be the one who’s pregnant and going through labour, I’d say I have a strong argument haha! I’m going to keep posting some pregnancy updates, even if it’s just a reminder for us. I didn’t take a lot of photos or keep a diary whilst pregnant with Daisy and can’t believe how easy it is to forget it all. This time around, I’m going to record much more so we can look back on all the exciting times ahead.
