With Mother’s Day just around the corner, I thought I’d put together a few things I’m lusting over at the moment and would all easily make gorgeous gifts. Just click the titles to take you to the websites.

Trinket Dish

I don’t know about you, but I’m forever misplacing my jewellery around the house. Whether it’s taking my rings off to wash my hands, sleepily removing my earrings or having a last minute change of heart over my necklace, I’m dreadful at returning things to their rightful place and then end up wondering where I left them! This trinket dish helps to always have an instant spot to put your jewels.1087079_oliver-bonas_jewellery_little-things-trinket-dish.jpgBamboo Bag

Summer is fast approaching (although the forecast this week has been far more December than February/March!) and the shops are filling up with straw, wicker and bamboo bags of all shapes and sizes. This one from ASOS is one of my favourites and would go so well with floaty summer dresses.9120123-1-stone.jpe

Mum Quotes Book

I’m a total sucker for a good quote and regularly type up prints to use around the house. This little book is a gorgeous gift for under £10, filled with dreamy quotes about motherhood and children. With beautiful illustrations, it’s an easy book to have on hand to brighten any mother’s day.

Mug of Dreams

I mean, drinking your favourite hot beverage out of this would surely lift your spirits. Need I say more?1160420_oliver-bonas_homeware_clara-pink-and-navy-ceramic-espresso-cupLetter Board

We have two letter boards in our house and I love finding new quotes to put on them. These are brilliant just for home decor or even used in photos. How gorgeous is this to capture all those special photos… first day of school, birthdays, first missing tooth, Christmas traditions or even introducing a new little member of the family.felt-letter-board-in-grey-4X3A6596-472x472

Personalised Drawing Necklace

There are so many lovely personalised gifts available at the moment, but this is easily my favourite. Available in gold, silver or rose gold with your artwork engraved, these are amazing gifts that help preserve special memories of your little ones.personalised-your-drawing-double-disc-charm-necklace-O21A3942-472x472.jpg

Striped Pyjamas

These pyjamas scream summer. In beach hut colour stripes and crinkle cotton, they are the perfect pair to see you straight through to early sunrises and breakfast in the garden. The button down means they’re great for growing bumps or breast feeding mamas too.

Crosley Record Player

Growing up listening to my dad’s vinyls and visiting record fairs and car boots sales regularly, has really left an impression on me. I love listening to music and often prefer it to having the TV on, but listening to vinyl is something else. The crackle you hear just before the music starts, will always give me goosebumps and remind me of my childhood, so this absolute beauty of a record player from Urban Outfitters is probably my favourite thing on this list. 0556633900103_066_b.jpe

What are you getting for the special mamas in your life, or hoping to get yourself?

img_2601I’m a sucker for a celebration. If I can hang bunting and blow up balloons, I’m there. I also think it’s great to get your little ones involved with some themed activities, however big or small. We did a few things over the last few days that we would do anytime of year, but with a little valentine’s spin.

I bought a few new craft bits so we could make some valentine’s cards, which Daisy really enjoyed. Based on experience, a word of warning; do not go for a quick pee whilst your 3 year old has a pot of multi-coloured sequins to hand! I returned to the kitchen to find her not placing them on the card so gently as she had been, but showering herself in them instead, holding her very own mini confetti party. I’ll leave you to laugh at how long it took me to get those out of her hair!img1When Daisy was finally sequin free and looking less like she’d a night on the tiles, we decided to make some brownies. After several baking attempts in the past, I have no shame in saying that until Daisy appreciates ingredients need to be weighed and measured correctly, we will be using a ready bought cake mix. Just add an egg, water and butter you say? All hail Betty Crocker! img 2img_2604img 3img 4Finally, we had a little valentines themed breakfast on the weekend. If you’ve followed me for a few months, you’ll know that I’m a huge fan of weekend family breakfasts; you can read a little more about what we do here. As always, it was nothing complicated and just thrown together in the morning. We all sat around the table, ate warm pain au chocolat and berries and laughed at Daisy dancing to Leon Bridges. img_2557img_2560img 5It just goes to show, you don’t have to spend a fortune to celebrate and the impression it leaves lasts a long time. I’m sure Daisy will be asking to make brownies regularly and I’ll be finding sequins all over the house for weeks to come!

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that I’m a major lover of a weekend breakfast. I don’t have breakfast through the week and work Monday to Friday too, so weekends are a real treat in our house, even more so if Jon is off. img_9236I love sitting around the table for meals and think it’s a really important part of family life. No distractions, just each other. I think that’s why weekend breakfasts are my favourite time to sit around the table; we rarely have to race off anywhere, most of the time Jon will be home and who doesn’t love breakfast?img_9237I always set the table nicely (I have a real problem with serve wear / table wear / pointless pretty utensils etc), turn the Motown music up high and we usually have a dance around the kitchen while whatever we’re having is cooking. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy and is normally store bought frozen pastries that you pop in the oven – I do make a pretty mean American pancake though!img_8818This is one of my favourite things to do as a family and I honestly get excited mid week knowing we have nowhere to go, nothing to do, just plenty of good food and smiles. Here are a few of the breakfast set ups we’ve had over the last few months, each as good as the one before. img_9898img_7807img_8668.jpgimg_8712img_8556I hope this gives you a little inspiration to have a tasty weekend breakfast of your own.
