With Mother’s Day just around the corner, I thought I’d put together a few things I’m lusting over at the moment and would all easily make gorgeous gifts. Just click the titles to take you to the websites.

Trinket Dish

I don’t know about you, but I’m forever misplacing my jewellery around the house. Whether it’s taking my rings off to wash my hands, sleepily removing my earrings or having a last minute change of heart over my necklace, I’m dreadful at returning things to their rightful place and then end up wondering where I left them! This trinket dish helps to always have an instant spot to put your jewels.1087079_oliver-bonas_jewellery_little-things-trinket-dish.jpgBamboo Bag

Summer is fast approaching (although the forecast this week has been far more December than February/March!) and the shops are filling up with straw, wicker and bamboo bags of all shapes and sizes. This one from ASOS is one of my favourites and would go so well with floaty summer dresses.9120123-1-stone.jpe

Mum Quotes Book

I’m a total sucker for a good quote and regularly type up prints to use around the house. This little book is a gorgeous gift for under £10, filled with dreamy quotes about motherhood and children. With beautiful illustrations, it’s an easy book to have on hand to brighten any mother’s day.

Mug of Dreams

I mean, drinking your favourite hot beverage out of this would surely lift your spirits. Need I say more?1160420_oliver-bonas_homeware_clara-pink-and-navy-ceramic-espresso-cupLetter Board

We have two letter boards in our house and I love finding new quotes to put on them. These are brilliant just for home decor or even used in photos. How gorgeous is this to capture all those special photos… first day of school, birthdays, first missing tooth, Christmas traditions or even introducing a new little member of the family.felt-letter-board-in-grey-4X3A6596-472x472

Personalised Drawing Necklace

There are so many lovely personalised gifts available at the moment, but this is easily my favourite. Available in gold, silver or rose gold with your artwork engraved, these are amazing gifts that help preserve special memories of your little ones.personalised-your-drawing-double-disc-charm-necklace-O21A3942-472x472.jpg

Striped Pyjamas

These pyjamas scream summer. In beach hut colour stripes and crinkle cotton, they are the perfect pair to see you straight through to early sunrises and breakfast in the garden. The button down means they’re great for growing bumps or breast feeding mamas too.

Crosley Record Player

Growing up listening to my dad’s vinyls and visiting record fairs and car boots sales regularly, has really left an impression on me. I love listening to music and often prefer it to having the TV on, but listening to vinyl is something else. The crackle you hear just before the music starts, will always give me goosebumps and remind me of my childhood, so this absolute beauty of a record player from Urban Outfitters is probably my favourite thing on this list. 0556633900103_066_b.jpe

What are you getting for the special mamas in your life, or hoping to get yourself?

So with wedding planning in full swing, I didn’t manage to get my July favourites posted (face palm) so I’m doubling up this time.

First off is this Jo Malone Room Spray in Pomegranate Noir. A few weeks back, the Jo Malone website had a ‘Just Because’ game running, where you could win a free gift with any purchase. I treated myself to a new perfume for the wedding and this was my free gift! Ordinarily, I would struggle to pay £44 for a room spray, but I can see the fuss over these. I keep it in our bedroom and one spritz manages to make the entire upstairs smell incredible. We had a lovely day out at Hendrewennol Fruit Picking Farm at the beginning of August and it’s definitely going to be a day trip staple. I wrote a post about it here if you’d like a read. It was such a fab day out for children and we made pancakes with berry sauce out of our pickings too. If you’re local to the area, I’d highly recommend it.img_0731Something for my fellow blondies now. I’m forever trying to rid my hair of any brassiness and have tried lots of different purple shampoos and treatments. The Charles Worthington Colour Enhancer Ultra Violet Shampoo is absolutely the purple shampoo I’ve ever used. After one wash it made a massive difference and I now use it once a week, just to keep my colour in check. It does leave your skin with a tinge of death-like colour, but it washes off easily with a good scrub and it’s totally worth it for the results. For my hen party back in July I knew I wanted a white/cream dress for the evening but really struggled finding something I liked. I wanted a floaty boho number but they were all a little too casual or way out of my price range. I spotted this maternity dress and thought I’d chance it. Best, decision, ever! It’s from the Rochelle Humes range on Very and is completely stunning. Well designed for pregnancy and breastfeeding, it’s fantastic for before and (long) after baby. There wasn’t any excess bump material so it hung straight down and you’d never have guessed it was a maternity piece. I’m even planning on wearing it for our garden party after the wedding in September (cross your fingers for good weather!).A few weeks back, the lovely Erica Davies posted on her Instagram something that her son had said to her when he was learning about bees in school. I’m always looking for nice quotes to make prints for around the house and as soon as I read it I made this little print. I sent one over to Erica too and you can download it here if you’d like.Bee1Just in time for autumn, I’ve got Candice Brown’s gorgeous book, Comfort. It’s jam packed with the most delicious recipes and is honestly worth it just for the images alone. I loved everything Candice made on last years Great British Bake Off which she went on to win; and deservedly so. I can’t wait to get stuck into this and am particularly looking forward to making Peanut Butter and Marshmallow Blondies… and Cherry Amaretto Bakewell Tart…. oh and Stilton Twisted Straws….. okay, they’re all incredible and I don’t know where to start! A must for anyone looking for some scrumptious comfort food.Lastly, I had our holiday photos printed out with LALALAB a couple of weeks ago and I couldn’t love them more. I love polaroid style photos and being able to add text to these was brilliant too. I’ll be getting these prints regularly for any trips or holidays we have in future.img_1016I’d love to know if you’ve tried and liked any of the above; let me know in the comments.

How fast did June go by? I don’t know whether it’s because we had a holiday, but this month has gone past in a flash; albeit a very happy, smile filled flash! Here are a few things that have been putting said smile on my face throughout June.Peonies. Ah peonies… I so wish you could pick these beauties up all year round. They are so pretty, smell amazing and brighten up the house no end. I’ve had a few bunches this month, but finding them for £3 in Aldi and £2.40 in Asda with a big ‘whoops’ sticker on them, made them even better! I’m keeping the smell alive with my The Library of Fragrance Peony Cologne though.img_9479Okay, so I bought this in May but only found a home for it in June. This print is absolutely gorgeous! It’s from The Hidden Pearl Studio and is hand painted by the very talented Charlie. I could never pick a favorite season and love them all for different reasons, so this print was perfect for me. Charlie has a lovely range of handmade cards and prints, and I know I’ll be visiting her online shop in future.img_9106I’ve been researching music for our upcoming wedding and creating playlists for different parts of the weekend. You can read a bit more about our wedding plans here. We thought it would be nice to have some Motown hits for when our guests arrive at the venue after the ceremony (who doesn’t love a bit of Motown). I started creating a playlist and found so many amazing songs that I’d either never heard or didn’t know who sung them. We’ve expanded the playlist to include some more modern soul music too now. My favourite find is Leon Bridges. How had I never heard his stuff before?! We’ve had his album on repeat and know we’ve love it for years to come.A bit of beauty now and this new moisturiser from L’Oreal is AMAZING! It’s the Hydra Genius Aloe Water and I highly recommend it. My skin can get oily with some moisturisers and I end up looking more ‘Sweaty Betty’ than ‘Dreamy Dewy’. You only need one pump, it absorbs instantly and leaves your skin feeling smooth and refreshed; no greasy skin!img_9924Last but certainly not least, these blush pink, embroidered shoes of dreams. As Carrie Bradshaw would say, hello lover! I treated myself to these for my hen do this weekend and cannot wait to wear them. The detail on them is stunning and they’re super comfy too. I’ll be wearing these all through summer, autumn and even winter paired with some cosy knit tights.img_9923

Why is my daughter’s wardrobe better than mine? Like, seriously?! Not. Fair. I’m always wishing I could get her stuff in my size, although I don’t think I could rock a matching bonnet and bloomer set, quite the way Daisy does. Here are some of my favourite picks from Daisy’s summer wardrobe.

Blue & White Candy Stripe Set

We’ve been following the lovely Chantal over at Bows and Bespoke for a long time now and have had a few outfits from her, but this is up there with my favourites. I love Daisy in blue and when these were posted on Instagram, I knew we had to have one. This is perfect for summer and any warm holidays you’ve got coming up and comes in a couple of other colours too. The top is really floaty making sure Daisy stays nice and cool and the elasticated neck and arms mean it’s a great fit. It just reminds me of deck chairs and sandy fish and chip picnics.Chambray Playsuit

I had one these style playsuits for Daisy last year and it was a god send, so when I saw this chambray one I was a very happy bunny. These are brilliant for really hot days and they allow plenty of air in as they so loose. We took this on holiday recently and used it for back and forth the pool; ideal for wriggling, damp, sun-creamed toddlers!Gingham Leggings

Ah gingham… I LOVE gingham. If I didn’t rein myself in a little, my life would look like one giant picnic. These leggings are what gingham dreams are made of… toddler sized with ruffles. Just add a messy top knot and Daisy looks like she should be going to Woodstock.

Yellow and Cream Dress

This pretty yellow and cream stripe dress will take Daisy through summer and into autumn nicely. A cosy cardigan and some knit tights will warm this little dress up, ready for crunchy leaves and hot chocolates. Meanwhile, it’s perfect for summer barbecues and walks along the pier with an ice-cream.Apple Bonnet and Bloomers

Lastly, another beauty from Bows and Bespoke. These were a custom order I requested, but all of Chantal’s fabrics are stunning and she’s always so helpful. The bonnet is so pretty and excellent for toddler’s who don’t keep their hat on. I love this apple print and this will also be lovely when the weather gets a bit cooler again. I’m thinking some oatmeal knit tights and tan boots. Perfect.

We haven’t had proper holiday in I don’t know how long. What I do know, is that my holiday wardrobe was in serious need of some TLC. Going to northern France, means that we can expect similar weather to Britain, but slightly hotter and hopefully slightly sunnier. I picked out some of my favourite finds below, that will be great for scouring the markets, eating lots of lovely food and chasing after Daisy

The Chiffon Shirt

I love chiffon shirts. They can be dressed up or down, worn alone or layered and there’s a style to suit everyone. This beauty was from Very, but there are loads around at the moment and Primark always have a great selection. This will be lovely over some white jeans in the evening or with denim shorts for a day out.

IMG_9323

The Embroidered Shorts

These beautiful shorts were in the sale in New Look and are so, so pretty. They are white broderie anglaise with navy embroidery and a scallop hem. Basically, the shorts dreams are made of. I’ll be pairing these with a relaxed navy t-shirt and tan sandals. You could easily jazz these up with some jewellery in the evening too.

IMG_9324

The Cable Knit Jumper

So the evenings will definitely be a little chilly, but we love sitting outside our caravan and playing cards late into the night. While it’s nice to have warm weather, I love putting on a cosy jumper and staying outdoors. I found this gorgeous white cable knit jumper in Sainsburys a few weeks back. It’s not too thick and has a split on either side, making it perfect for summer evenings.

IMG_9320

The Bardot Dress

There are so many gorgeous bardot dresses out at the moment, but combining a strapless bra and heat for someone with big boobs isn’t great. Before you know it, both are hanging somewhere around your hips and you’re anything but Brigitte Bardot. You needn’t worry about a bra with this amazing dress though. From Miss Selfridge, this floaty little number is shirred across the bust and at the top of the arm, helping to stop the sleeves from riding up. I just need to mindful of Daisy potentially pulling at this and scaring my poor father for life! Haha!

IMG_9314.JPG

The Bikini

Unless you’re one of the lucky ones who sprung back into shape after having a baby, you may be concerned at the swimwear situation. Daisy is 2 and a half now, so I haven’t got an excuse for my ‘mum tum’, apart from I like food too much and exercise too little. So, all hail the high waist bikini! They hide a multitude of sins, are super flattering and make you feel like a 50’s pin up. This gorgeous flower print one from Very is a great fit, supportive and has detachable straps for those pesky tan lines.

I’d love to know what summer updates you’ve added to you wardrobe and what your essentials are for holidays. Thanks for reading!
