We’re off to France at the end of this week and I am SO EXCITED! It’ll be Daisy’s first time abroad and Jon’s first time going on a Eurocamp holiday. I grew up going on these holidays and I can’t wait for Jon and Daisy to experience them too.
I haven’t been to France in over 10 years now and the thought of pastries for breakfast, fresh baguettes for lunch and pistachio ice cream every day is making me feel like a kid at Christmas. So imagine my excitement when I saw this beauty in Boots a few weeks back?!
Oh yes people, not only will I be eating pistachio ice cream, I’ll be smelling like it too. This is from the lovely The Library of Fragrance who do lots of weird and wonderful fragrances. I love how a particular thing can take you back to a time in your life. Givenchy, Very Irresistible will forever remind me of back to back drunken nights out aged 19. Mamas and Papas hit California Dreamin’ will always remind me of travelling through the French Alps as a child. And (she’ll kill me for this) burnt toast always reminds me of my mother. Now, pistachio ice cream will always remind me of our first holiday with Daisy.
I’ve also picked up my summer favourite, Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula. This smells amazing, lasts ages and is a really thick moisturiser, leaving your skin super soft after a day in the sun.
I bought the usual sun cream and a sun protection lip balm too. Trust me when I say you do not want to burn your lips, and speaking from experience, a bright red blister in the middle of your lower lip is not something you want in your holiday snaps!
I also found these gorgeous toiletry bags in Flying Tiger (although I think it’s just called Tiger in Cardiff?). The large one was £3 and the smaller £2. They’re lined inside so no nasty leakages spoiling your clothes and they’re completely adorable!
I had a tube of this Crabtree and Evelyn hand cream in a Christmas gift set and it is literally amazing! So I was a very happy bunny when I discovered another one in my toiletry box!
Lastly, I knew I needed some sort of volume spray as my hair is sooo flyaway and flat. Sadly I’m not one of those people blessed with big, beautiful, beach hair, so if something promises to give me ‘natural bounce’ or to feel ‘thicker with more body’ (this is a hair product, I swear!) then I’ll be spending my pennies on it.
I’ve only used this VO5 Volume Blow-Dry Spray once so far, but it’s brilliant. My hair definitely felt thicker but without weighing it down or feeling too gunky with product. I think this is going to be a trusty must have, especially with those crappy holiday hairdryers.
I can’t wait to use all this lovely stuff and feel properly pampered, just like us mama’s should be. What’s in your holiday beauty bag?
